At just 13 years old, Mariama Jabbie is already a courageous advocate for girls’ rights in her community.
Like many girls, Mariama dreamed of finishing school and becoming a doctor. But when her parents suggested she should leave school for an early marriage, Mariama stood up for herself. With bravery and determination, she told them:
“I respect you, but I want to continue my education. Every girl has the right to learn and to dream.”
Her story is a reminder that when a girl is given her rights — the right to education, protection, and opportunity — she does not just change her own future. She changes her family, her community, and the world.
👉 Mariama’s message to all girls:
“Girls’ rights are human rights. When you give a girl a chance, you give the world a brighter future.”
When a girl learns, a community rises.
